Vision:
Petroleum Engineering is primarily concerned with the economic
extraction of oil and gas. This is accomplished through
the design, drilling and operations of well systems, and
the integrated management of hydrocarbon reservoirs. The
Program Objectives are derived from the department mission,
which is related to the mission of the College and University.
Mission:
The mission of the Petroleum Engineering
department is to provide a modern petroleum engineering
education with proper balance between fundamentals and practice,
and to graduate petroleum engineers prepared for life-long
learning and capable of being productive contributors, immediately,
for the oil and gas industry. The Petroleum Engineering
program mission is:

Providing manpower needed for the petroleum engineering
industry.

Creating a new generation of petroleum engineers to
meet the requirements of the future industry.

Providing
a balanced, integrated and multidisciplinary curriculum,
which is appropriate for immediate professional practice,
as well as for life-long learning.

Promoting a sense of scholarship, leadership and service
among the graduates.

Developing, disseminating and applying new knowledge
and technology.

Playing a leadership role in solving the problems
facing Kuwait and the Gulf region.
